Jennah Wootten
\Jennah Wootten is the Manager Major Events at Auckland Tourism, Events and Economic Development (ATEED); a Business Unit within Auckland Council.
Jennah was appointed to a key senior major events role when ATEED was established in October 2010. In 2011 she was promoted to Manager Major Events, a senior role that involves leading a team of 30 staff to drive the development of Auckland as a major events destination. She holds a Bachelor of Business Studies, with a double major in sport business marketing and marketing communications, from Massey University.
Working in the field of major events for the past decade, Jennah has worked on some of the world’s largest sporting events including management of:
· the New Zealand’s largest Rugby World Cup 2011 delivery programme (Auckland),
· the successful delivery of multiple major events including the FIBA U-19 Men’s World Basketball Championships, Louis Vuitton Trophy, Festival of Sailing and World Rally Championships,
· the contractual relations held with multiple federations and rights holders including Volvo Ocean Race S.L.U, World Triathlon Champs 2012, World BMX Championships 2013, World Softball Championships 2013 and World Rally Championships 2012,
· strategic support of feasibility assessments for multiple major events being considered by Auckland such as America’s Cup World Series, Commonwealth Games, World Masters Games, SportAccord, and the FIFA U-20 Men’s World Cup legal review on behalf of Auckland and other host cities within New Zealand.
Prior to joining ATEED, Jennah held event management roles with Auckland City Council, North Shore City Council and Western Springs Stadium where she was responsible for the end to end management of numerous major events. She also worked as an account director for the New Zealand Sponsorship Agency where she managed some of New Zealand’s most high profile sponsorship portfolios for clients including New World, Gillette, Hyundai and Telecom.
